UK
Edition of TMG

|
I am proud to have been associated with the development of the UK edition of TMG. It has many custom features specially designed to meet the needs of those researching British ancestry, including:
- Use of British English throughout the program
- Custom tag types, roles, and sentences for UK specific events
- 82 custom UK source types
- UK style chart designs
- UK timelines
- UK place and name styles
- Support for Chapman Codes
- A UK sample project illustrating use of these custom features
For more detailed information about the UK edition of TMG, see here.
You can download a 30 day free trial of the UK edition here.
Because my custom UK source types are now included in the UK edition of TMG, they are no longer available for download.

UK
Timelines

|
I use custom timelines a lot when working with TMG. The
ones I have written for UK research fall into 3 main categories:
- Research
Aids
- Historical
Events
- Local
Events
To view and download copies of my timelines, please click here.
Three of these timelines are already included in the UK edition of TMG.

Place Styles

|
One of the many special features of TMG is the ability to design
custom Place Styles to use with particular event tags.
I have designed the following Place Styles for my own use:

TMG Screen Layouts

|
TMG also gives you the opportunity to customise screen
layouts. There are several which I use regularly in my work. To see
screenshots of these layouts and download the layout files for your own
use, please click here.

Tags
and Sentences

|
TMG gives the user complete freedom to decide which events or items
of information should be included for an individual (tags) and how they
should be output in reports (sentences). Using these features, I am able to
produce interesting narratives directly from TMG, without having to
"polish them up" in a word processor. To do this, I make
extensive use of the Memo field in tags.
To see an example of a narrative produced in this way - generated
directly from the program - please click here.
To view details of the tags and sentence structures used to produce the
narrative, please click here.
